Willie Mae Sanders Edwards, daughter of the late Roy James “Gorby” Sanders and Lolleta Stowers Sanders, was born March 24, 1934 in Dolph, Arkansas. She departed this life September 23, 2026 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 92. At fourteen she was united in marriage to Jessie Melvin Edwards December 15, 1949 and together they raised one son. Mae spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She retired from Baxter Lab after 24 years of employment. She was of the Assembly of God faith and attended Dolph Baptist Church.

Mae is survived by one son: Danny Edwards and wife Linda of Oxford; one sister: Kathleen Morehead of Mountain Home; four grandchildren: Jason Edwards, Jessica Smallwood, Sheila Morgan and Matthew Coffman; nine great grandchildren: Caleb Edwards, Christian Edwards, Alyssa Smallwood, Jacob Smallwood, Haley Youngman, Adam Morgan, Josie Morgan Rosi Morgan; one great great grandchild; special niece and nephew: Marcia Lawrence (Junius) of Branson, Justin Sanders, Coy Neal “Champ” Sanders of Calico Rock; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Coy Sanders, Vernon Dockins, Glen Sanders; one sister: Nancy Burke and brother-in-law: Darrell Morehead.

Visitation and funeral service will be Monday, September 28, 2026 at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Wayland Arbor Cemetery in Dolph.

Pallbearers: Christian Edwards, Caleb Edwards, Bobby Huffines, Matthew Coffman, Asam Morgan, Jacob Smallwood.
