Willie Lee Darnell

Of Brockwell, Arkansas.

Willie Lee Darnell, son of the late Clevis Toy Darnell and Bernice Smith Darnell, was born September 9, 1946 in Houston, Texas.  He departed this life June 28, 2021 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 19 days. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Ivey May 22, 1965 in Houston, Texas and together they two children. Willie proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Houston, Texas. Most of his working years were spent in the telecommunication field. He began as a telephone technician and rose to management with AT&T Willie spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.

He is survived by two children:  Regana Rapp of Brockwell and Christopher Lee Darnell of Wilburton, Oklahoma; an "adopted son":  Victor Alan Estes of Brockwell; one brother:  Carl Darnell and wife Beverly of Conroe, Texas; one sister:  Beulah Leach of Huntsville, Texas; four grandchildren:  Tiffany Fiddler-Rapp, Jennifer Montoya, Ireland Darnell and Zealand Darnell; five great grandchildren:  Syler Barbian, Lumen Fiddler-Rapp, William Montoya, Elena Montoya, Alyce Montoya and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one brother:  James Toy Darnell; one sister:  Pamela Jane Gray; a half-sister:  Billie Marlene Austin and a half-brother:  Floyd "Buddy" Leggett.

The family is planning a private memorial service for a later date.
