William Robert Wright

of Melbourne, Arkansas

William Robert Wright, son of the late Barnes Wilson Wright and Ruth Arnold Wright, was born November 2, 1942 in Spring Mill, Arkansas. He departed this life December 16, 2018 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 76 years, 1 month, 14 days. He was united in marriage to Nina Dunn August 3, 1963 in Boswell and together they raised two sons. Bill served in the Arkansas National Guard during the Cuban Missel Crisis. Bill spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. Bill enjoyed deer hunting with his grandsons and was a true Razorback fan. He retired from Boeing Aircraft after thirty-seven years of employment. During his employment he saw the company name go from Arkansas Air to Douglas Aircraft to McDonnell-Douglas and lastly to Boeing. He spent twenty-six years serving as the Union Representative. Bill was served on the Melbourne City Council for thirty-four years. He was a member fo the Melbourne Masonic Lodge. Bill was of the Baptist faith and a member of Sage Baptist Church.

Bill is survived by his wife of 50 years: Nina Wright of the home; two sons: Robert Wright and Stacey Wright and wife Jacquelyn all of Batesville; one sister: Barbara Wright of Floral; four grandchildren: Braiden, Clayton, Will and Indee; his stepmother: Susan Wright of LaPorte, Indiana and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Dewey Wright and one sister: Linda Dowell.

Visitation and funeral service will be Wednesday, December 19 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rick Burke officiating. Burial will be at Lunenburg Cemetery
