William Allen Truax

Of Norfork, Arkansas

William Allen Truax, son of the late Billy Don Truax and Katherine Love Truax, was born June 29, 1948 in Stuttgart, Arkansas.  He departed this life December 4, 2020 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 5 days.  William proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He was united in marriage to Sandra Rhine on June 21, 2001 in Calico Rock, Arkansas.  He spent his life a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.  Most of his working years were spent being employed by the Arkansas Department of Corrections, retiring after many years of employment.  He was of the Methodist faith.

William is survived by his wife of 19 years:  Sandra Truax of the home; one son:  Billy Truax of Gillett, Arkansas; one daughter:  Ashley Shattuck and husband Ethan of Old Joe, Arkansas; one brother:  David Truax and wife Sharon of Gillett; one sister:  Susan Truax King and husband Roger of Gillett; six grandchildren:  Joseph Harris, Alesha Lewis, Cole Hendrix, Teegan Hendrix, Charlie Shattuck and Wyatt Shattuck; 4 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be Monday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock with Raymon Carneal officiating.  Burial will be at Dolph Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  David Truax, Billy Truax, Joseph Harris, Roger King, Brian Reed and Brandon Truax.
