William Q Hamby

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

William Q. Hamby, son of the late John Henry Hamby and Louanna Sexton Hamby, was born February 1, 1930 in Culp, Arkansas.  He departed this life January 22, 2021 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 90 years, 11 months and 21 days.  William spent his life as a loving son, brother, nephew, husband, father, uncle provider and friend.  William proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, retiring after 23 years of service.  Later he went on to work as a service representative for a paint Company in California, as an insurance agent and as a property manager. He was a skilled electronics technician. He was united in marriage to Annabelle Hankins December 17, 1977.  He enjoyed, traveling in his RV, crossword puzzles, hunting, fishing, grilling steaks, growing tomatoes, dogs and Country and Western music.  He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calico Rock First Baptist Church.

William is survived by four children:  Douglas Hamby of Bedford, Texas, LeAnn Hamby of San Antonio, Texas and Mike Richardson of Calico Rock and Debbie Kundurt of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother:  Tom Hamby and wife Lanell of Calico Rock; one sister:  Thelma Lee Kimberlin of Calico Rock; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; three brothers: Oscar Woodrow Hamby, Junius "June" Hamby and Gerald Hamby and one half-sister:  Edna Pinkston.

Graveside funeral service will be Tuesday, January 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Table Rock Cemetery in Culp, Arkansas.  Arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock, Arkansas.
