Wendell Lee Dillard

of Cabot, Arkansas

Wendell Lee Dillard, son of Rheta Lea Moss Dillard Blankenship and the late James Thurl Dillard, was born June 29, 1959 in Batesville, Arkansas. He departed this life June 22, 2019 at his home in Cabot, Arkansas at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 24 days. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend. He was a 1977 graduate of Oxford High School and went on to earn a bachelor's and master's in Business Education at Arkansas State University. He began his teaching career at the University of New Orleans in 1984. At the time of his death he was the assistant professor of Computer Information Systems at the Beebe Campus of Arkansas State University. Wendell was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Oxford Cumberland Presbyterian United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his mother: Rheta Dillard Blankenship of Oxford; one brother and sister-in-law: Michael and Kathy Dillard of Midway; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Donna and Steve Stevenson of Oxford and Sarah and Roger Grinnell of England; five nieces and nephews: Deanna Skala, Mark Stevenson, Brett Stevenson, Elizabeth Lanehart and Adam Cloninger; 10 great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Thurl Dillard.

Visitation and funeral service will be Tuesday, June 25 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Bobby Coleman officiating.

Burial will be at Oxford Cemetery.
