Of Dolph, Arkansas
Walter Roy Hagan, son of the late Lloyd Hagan and Florence Ola Thompson Hagan, was born May 18, 1950 in Denham Springs, Louisiana. He departed this life May 23, 2023 at his home in Dolph, Arkansas at the age of 73 years and 5 days. He was united in marriage to Martha Lois Sims in Newton, Texas March 3, 1972 and together they raised three children. Walter spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. Most of his working years were spent as a self-employed craftsman. Later on in life he worked as a security guard. Walter was known as the "Rocking Chair Man" building those chairs was his legacy and people all over the United States. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of Brockwell Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Martha Hagan of the home; three children: DeAnn O. Anglum and husband Mike of Melbourne, Angela M. Hagan of Dolph and Larry S. Hagan of Dolph; one sister: Betty Conklin and husband Johnny of Sidney; ten grandchildren: Jennifer (Clayton) Grigg, Jewelia Angulm, Melissa Sneathern, Daniel Killian, Autumn Beaver, Austin Beaver, Blake Hagan, Emalee Hagan, Roy Hagan, Montana Hagan; six great grandchildren: Jared Sneathern, Bentley Sneathern, Oaklynn Beaver, Carter Grigg, Harper Grigg, Haisley Hagan; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: John Hagan, Harold Hagan, Donald Hagan and one infant brother; two sisters: DeEllen Goodwin and Delma Conklin; and one great granddaughter: Paisley Elizabeth Marie Son.
Graveside funeral service will be Thursday, May 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Trimble Campground Cemetery in Dolph with Ronnie Treat, Dean Dockins and Earl Barnes officiating.
Arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.
Pallbearers: Larry Hagan, Roy Hagan, Charlie Spurgeon, Christopher "Hopper" Spurgeon, Ronnie Boshears, Daniel Stephen and Greg Thornley.
