Vohn Doyle Weaver

of Melbourne, Arkansas

Vohn Doyle Weaver, son of the late Thomas Talmadge Weaver and Susie Johnson Weaver, was born November 8, 1930 in Gatesville, Oklahoma. He departed this life July 23, 2019 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 15 days. Vohn graduated from Melbourne High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Shirley Blankenship and together they raised one son. Vohn spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, provider and friend. During his working years, he worked construction and as a logger. He retired from McDonnell Douglas after several years of employment. Vohn was of the Baptist faith and attended Melbourne First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Shirley Weaver of Melbourne; one son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Amy Weaver of Fayetteville; one brother: Paul Weaver and wife Sharron of Violet Hill; one sister: Julia Fagg of East Wenatchee, Washington; three grandchildren: Brandi Weaver, Kristin Weaver and Luke Weaver all of Fayetteville and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Sue Wiles, Lorene Wilson, Verna Finley and Eva Jones and two brothers: Bert Weaver and Wayne Weaver.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Funeral service will be Friday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne with Rick Burke officiating. Burial will be at Melbourne Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Luke Weaver, Tim Blankenship, Brent Weaver, Doyle Weaver, Wayne Wilson, Steve Finley.

Honorary Pallbearers: Roy Runsick, Lee Campbell Watson, Kendall Stroud, Cody Stroud, Burton Finley, Tristan Weaver.
