Virginia Raine Brazelton Ross

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Virginia Raine Brazelton Ross, daughter of the late William Henry Brazelton and Thelma Alice Bibles Brazelton, was born September 14, 1935 in Huntsville, Alabama.  She departed this life June 18, 2024 at her home in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 4 days.  Virginia was united in marriage to Murry Ross December 5, 1953 in Liberty, Indiana and together they raised three children.  At the age of forty, she decided to go to nursing school. She attended Columbia Union College and earned her BSRN and went to work at Kettering Medical Center.  Virginia continued her education at John Hopkins and became an oncology specialist.  She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband.  Virginia was an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames 17th Century, Concord Chapter.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years:  Murry Ross of the home; one daughter:  Nancy Ross of Melbourne; two sons:  Michael Ross and wife Deb of Arizona and Timothy Ross of Ohio; one brother:  William Brazelton, Jr of Ohio; one sister:  Carol Richardson of Ohio; one grandson:  Jonathan Ross of Ohio and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers:  Eric Brazelton and Ernest Williams.

Graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22 at 1:00 p.m. at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
