Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Virginia Lee Post, daughter of the late Wilbur Post and Velma Hulbert Post, was born January 13, 1949 in Boone, Iowa.  She departed this life April 15, 2024 in Pineville, Arkansas at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 2 days.  Virginia spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  Most of her working years were spent as a machinist and real estate agent. Virginia loved stories and crafts and once owned a small ceramic shop in Boone, Iowa.  She was a talented artist who worked in mediums such as oil paints, pen and ink on glass, and toll painting on wood and canvas. She had an amazing imagination and loved to laugh.  Virginia worked hard and enjoyed her family and friends with a sense of fun and mischief.  Her favorite store was the fabric store and she could spend all day at Hobby Lobby. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Wises Chapel Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Pineville.

Virginia is survived by two daughters:  Valerie Draper of Ft. Dodge, Iowa and Kimberly Welch of Rapid City, South Dakota; one brother:  Marlan Post and wife Robin of Dolph; two sisters:  Sandra Jo Peterson and husband John of Illinois and Nancy Fagen of Colorado; four grandchildren:  Lani Vanvacter, Tobi Draper, Alan (Erin) Courtroul, Shayne Leckband; five great grandchildren:  Trystan Draper, Tourrey Draper, Loralei Smith, Abbie Courtroul, Ivy Rose Courtroul; three nieces and nephews:  Roxanne (Dennis) Harmon of Melbourne, Dale (Jennifer) Post of Dolph, Angela (Tony) O'Brien of Dolph and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother:  Edward Post; one sister:  Bernice Miller; brother-in-law:  Lyle Miller and sister-in-law: Lorraine Post.

Graveside funeral service will be Thursday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Dolph Baptist Cemetery with Mike Haney officiating under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:  Wises Chapel Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 175 W. Crossroads, Pineville, Arkansas 72566.

Pallbearers:  Dale Post, Tony O'Brien, P. J. Harness, Jimmy Winston, Devin Hicks, Matthew Hicks.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Dennis Harmon and Ben Vanmeter.
