Vickie Jean Gresham Houston

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Vickie Jean Gresham Houston, daughter of the late E.C. Gresham and Ilene Self Gresham, was born February 21, 1948.  She departed this life March 12, 2025 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 77. Vickie was united in marriage to James Calvin "Rusty" Houston in Zavalla, Texas in 1968 and together they raised two children.  Vickie spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. She believed raising her children and her "bonus children" was the most significant accomplishment of her life.  She enjoyed crafting, attending the Houston reunion and celebrating all Holidays with her family. She was of the Baptist faith.

Vickie is survived by one son:  James Houston and wife Buffy of Pineville; one daughter:  Michelle Houston Reynolds of Oxford; one brother:  James Hubert Gresham and wife Regina of Lufkin, Texas; one sister:  Rebecca "Becky" Crager and husband Mark of Burke, Texas; five grandchildren:  Autumn Houston, Cody Reynolds, James Wesley Reynolds, Kayla Oakes, Laura Porter; four great grandchildren:  Trevor Layer, Hunter Houston, Hannah Ferguson, Skyler Phillips; one great grandchild; her sister-in-law:  Donna Gresham of Hooks, Texas; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother:  Robert "Bobby" Gresham.

The family would like to thank Shelby Smith for all the care and love that she provided.

Graveside funeral service will be Saturday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Oxford Cemetery with Leon Moorehead officiating and remarks by Buffy Houston under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
