Vada Marie Martin Lester

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Vada Marie Martin Lester, daughter of the late Joel Martin and Delphia Branscum Martin, was born September 8, 1927 in Culp, Arkansas.  She departed this life February 3, 2022 at her home in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 94 years, 4 months and 24 days. After graduating high school, Vada went on to earn a teaching certificate.  She taught in a rural school in Martin Springs, Arkansas and in several other schools.  She was united in marriage to Joe Floyd "Tom" Lester January 6, 1951 in Allison, Arkansas and together they raised three children.  Vada spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend.  She was of the Mennonite faith and a member of Bethel Springs Mennonite Church.

Vada is survived by one son:  Joey Lester of Calico Rock; two daughters:  Diane Jenkins and husband Terry of Calico Rock and Donna Morrison of Greenbrier; one brother:  Larnal Martin and wife Judy of Rich Hill, Missouri; one sister:  Alma Staggs of Calico Rock; seven grandchildren:  John Morrison, Josh (Heather) Morrison, Lori (Jeff) Glover, Sara (Michael) Speights, Eric (Kasey) Jenkins, Eva Jenkins (Patton) and Emily (Zack) Killian; twelve great grandchildren:  Sam Morrison, Justin Morrison, Abby Crawford, Lane Crawford, Peyton Crawford, Jacey Glover, Owen Glover, Bailey Jenkins, Nikki Black, Cameron Killian, Kennedy Killian, Ryatt Killian and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers:  Jay Martin and Francis Martin; one sister:  Lois Pinkston and one son-in-law:  John Morrison.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 8 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.   Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m.   Burial will follow at Table Rock Cemetery in Culp.
