Treva Mae Thomas, daughter of the late Jesse Eldon Thomas and Susan Elsie Ferguson Thomas, was born June 9, 1938 on the family Farm in Evening Shade, Arkansas. She departed this life October 25, 2022 in New York, New York at the age of 84. Treva was a graduate of Violet Hill High School and went on to attend Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, Arkansas. Treva spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, beloved aunt, homemaker and friend. She was the assistant and right hand to Mr. Roy Huffington of Houston, Texas for more than 40 years. She was a trusted employee that even babysat the Huffington children. Treva loved her family and all her many siblings, nieces, nephews and their children more than anything else. She took great joy in sending giant Christmas boxes to her family with treasures that she found throughout the year. She was a warm and caring person. A lifelong Baptist with a great love for the Lord. Most Sundays she could be found feeding the homeless in Houston or hosting in her home dinner to the young men on mission to Houston from the Mormon faith. Treva also loved cats and had a bounty of them around her house. She had two special house cats named Blacky and Whitey.
Treva is survived by one brother: Van Carlton and wife Nancy Chamblee Thomas of Batesville; one sister-in-law: Almeda Herron Thomas of Evening Shade; seven nieces and nephews: Susan Traylor Dewitt, Elizabeth Reidelberger-Wolgemuth and husband Kent of New York, Linda Charlene Thomas Honeycutt and Donna Thomas of Evening Shade, Alesia Thomas Thayer and husband Randy of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Michael Thomas of Marshall, Missouri, Theresa Thomas Miller and husband Jeff of Austin, Texas and Julie Thomas Sloan and husband Walker of Little Rock; great nieces and nephews: Cory DeWitt and Cody DeWitt of Magnolia, Texas, Paige Wolgemuth, Bryn Wolgemuth , Gwynne Wolgemuth all of New York, New York, Rob Reidelberger and his daughters: Analiese and Lauren of O'Fallon, Illinois, Freddy Honeycutt Shane Honeycutt, Deanna Reynolds and Cadence Valentine all of Arkansas, Jennifer Thomas, John Michael Thomas and Connor Thomas all of Missouri, Bella Miller and Sophia Miller both of Austin Texas and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Elmer Jesse Thomas, Charles Birl Thomas, Dr. John Paul Thomas and wife Pauline Billingsley Thomas, Eldon Earl Thomas; three sisters: Zelma Catherine Thomas Traylor and her husband Pete Traylor, Vada Berneice Thomas Reidelberger and husband Robert Reidelberger, Frankie Eudean Thomas Rife and her husband Archie and two nephews: Daniel DeWitt and Bill Reidelberger.

Visitation and funeral service will be Saturday, December 3 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 1 – 2 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Godwin Cemetery Evening Shade.
Pallbearers: Van Thomas, Michael Thomas, Kent Wolgemuth, Rob Reidelberger and Walker Sloan.
Honorary Pallbearers: Steve Farmer, Jeff Miller, Randy Thayer, Franky Sharp, Billy Jack and Henry Lankford.
