Treva Rhea Duren Smith

Of Sage, Arkansas

Treva Rhea Duren Smith, daughter of the late James Duren and Emily Mae Miller Duren, was born September 2, 1934 in Violet Hill, Arkansas.  She departed this life April 26, 2021 in Cave City, Arkansas at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 24 days.  She was united in marriage to Junior Wayne Smith June 15, 1958 and together they raised five children.  Treva spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. In addition to being a homemaker, Treva worked as a secretary.  She was the Melbourne School secretary for 8 years and was employed at the Department of Human Services, retiring after 25 years of employment. She loved to sew, quilt and cook. Nobody could fry chicken like hers! She traveled with Wayne to almost every state. Her greatest enjoyment was the time spent with her big family. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Finley Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by four children: James Smith, Linda Lawrence and husband Scott, Gina Sheedy and husband David, and David Smith and wife Joy all of Sage; seven grandchildren: Rubin Smith (Ashley), Travis Lawrence (Laura), Shawna Love (Brett), Sondra Webb (Joe), Christi Thomas (Kenny), Sydney Sheedy, Garrett Smith; 15 great grandchildren; brother-in-law:  Roger Smith and wife Mavis of Bull Shoals and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother:  Burl Dean Duren; one daughter Connie Pollock; her husband of 62 years:  Junior Wayne Smith and two grandchildren:  Russell Sheedy and Trisha Thomas.

Graveside funeral service will be Wednesday, April 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Family Cemetery in Zion, Arkansas with Doyne Robertson officiating.  Arrangements by Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers:  Travis Lawrence, Rubin Smith, Kenny Thomas, Garrett Smith, Brett Love and Joe Webb.
