Tressie Mae Conyers Stroud
Of Melbourne, Arkansas
Tressie Mae Conyers Stroud, daughter of the late Truman Conyers and Nobia Fay Rush Conyers, was born February 12, 1929 in Athens, Arkansas. She departed this life February 11, 2022 in Salem, Arkansas at the age of 92. Tressie spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. Much of her working years were spent at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft in Melbourne, where she would retire after many years. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Melbourne First Baptist Church. She had a green thumb and could grow just about anything. She loved to work in her yard and was very proud of her rose bushes. She loved to travel, loved country music and would travel many miles for a good concert. Tressie never met a stranger. Ask anyone that knew her and they would tell you that her great joy in life were her grandchildren and her 'greats".
She is survived by three daughters: Deloris Brown of Sage, Marlene Hutchins and husband Arnnie of LaCrosse and Darlene Sartin of Melbourne; seven grandchildren: Chris Brown Chad (Arlene) Brown, Stacy (Chris) Layne, Amber (Darrell) Want, Jessie (Felisha) Hutchins, Brandy Moore, Dennis Sartin; seventeen great grandchildren: Autumn Wagoner, Michael Brown, Kirstin McCalman, Spydyr Brown, Payton Herron, Jordan Layne, Kelby Herron, Brandon Layne, Austin Bromley, Chase Hutchins, Haven Hutchins, Bentley Hutchins, Ashley Creekmore, Haley Stigall, Brooke Kimble, Amy Sartin and Hadli Sartin; 9 great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relative and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter: Connie Stroud and one brother: Austin Darrell Conyers.
Visitation and funeral service will be Tuesday, February 15 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service with Rick Burke officiating will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.
