Thomas George Fitzpatrick

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Thomas George Fitzpatrick, son of the late Thomas Francis Fitzpatrick and Ida Frances Obach Fitzpatrick, was born October 16, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York.  He departed this life May 28, 2022 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 12 days.  After graduating from Woodrow Wilson Vocational High School in Jamaica, New York, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from 1950 to 1954 and attaining the rank of Staff Sargent and received a National Defense Service Medal, Occupation Medal for service in Germany and Good Conduct Medal.  While serving in the Arizona National Guard, he attended Phoenix College and earned an Associate of Arts Degree. After moving to Arkansas, he completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Most of his working years were spent as a Technical Writer for the aerospace industry.  December 31, 1964 he was united in marriage to Fern Marie Hart and together they raised their family.

Tom is survived by one son:  Mike Fitzpatrick and wife Debbie; one daughter:  Onnie Downard all of Calico Rock; ten grandchildren: Chris Curtis, Heather (Lyndle) McCurley, David (Kristie) Brewer, Tasha (Tony) Kearbey, Brent (Misty) Brewer, Holly (Tommy) Cartes, Melissa Summerville, Angela Summerville, Mason Campbell, Kirsten (Lance) Johnston; 16 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and a host other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife: Fern Fitzpatrick and two daughters:  Rose Marie Williams and Judy Ann Summerville.

The family will be holding a memorial service in July.
