Terry Gene Jenkins

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Terry Gene Jenkins, son of the late Guy W. Jenkins and Eva A. George Jenkins, was born June 26, 1951 in Batesville, Arkansas. He departed this life December 25, 2022 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 29 days.  He was united in marriage to Diane Lester March 8, 1974 in Optimus, Arkansas and together they raised three children.  Terry spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider, and friend.  He grew up on, worked, and later owned Jenkins Fishing Service and Motel in Calico Rock.  He loved and spent his life on the White River and was one of the best guides the River has ever known.   In his younger years, Terry was active in community affairs, serving with the Volunteer Fire Department and with Calico Rock City Council.  He was a member of the Calico Rock Masonic Lodge.  He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calico Rock First Baptist Church.

Terry is survived by his wife of 48 years:  Diane Jenkins of the home; three children:  Eric (Kasey) Jenkins of Calico Rock, Eva (Patton Black) Jenkins of Mountain Home; and Emily (Zack) Killian of Calico Rock; two sisters:  Royce Owens (Ray) of Violet Hill and Boni Raley of Louisburg, Kansas; one sister-in-law:  Janie Jenkins; six grandchildren:  Bailey Jenkins, Nikki Black, Blakelynn Black, Cameron Killian, Kennedy Killian and Ryatt Killian; his beloved dock dog:  Sadie; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother:  Danny Guy Jenkins; one brother-in-law:  Leonard Raley; and one nephew:  Jon Raley.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 28 from 5-7 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Funeral service will be Thursday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Calico Rock with Kevin Bishop officiating.  Burial will be at Table Rock Cemetery.
