Teresa Lynn Whitehurst

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Teresa Lynn Whitehurst, daughter of Y. D. Whitehurst, Jr. and Nell O'Neal Whitehurst, was born July 20, 1961 in Little Rock, Arkansas.  She departed this life May 3, 2021 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 13 days.  Teresa was a 1979 graduate of Melbourne High School and went on to follow in her father's and grandfather's footsteps and become Wildlife Officer.   She was an avid sportsman, who loved being in the woods hunting and fishing.  She also enjoyed helping out on the family farm, especially attending to the cattle.  Teresa spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, niece, cousin, aunt and friend. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Melbourne First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her parents:  Y. D. and Nell Whitehurst of Lunenburg; one brother and sister-in-law: Tim and Carol Whitehurst of Melbourne; one niece Meagen Whitehurst of Bradford; her aunt:  Pat Whitehurst of Sherwood; her uncle:  Pete Whitehurst of Little Rock; cousins:  Lisa LeMay and husband Mike of Beebe, Robin and Ron Long of Sherwood, David Whitehurst and Scott Whitehurst of Little Rock, and her beloved dog: Tucker and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents:  Y. D. Whitehurst, Sr. and Myrtle Richardson Whitehurst; her maternal grandparents:  Curtis and Annie Delling O'Neal; her aunt:  Lera Richardson; uncles:  James Whitehurst and John Whitehurst.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 4 from 6-8p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Burial will be at Lunenburg Cemetery with Doyne Robertson and Rick Burke officiating.
