Susanne Ruttkay Storlie

Of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas

Susanne Ruttkay Storlie, daughter of the late John Ruttkay and Mildred Dianis Ruttkay, was born August 27, 1943 in Libertyville, Illinois.  She departed this life August 31, 2021 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 78 years 4 days.  She was united in marriage to Richard Storlie October 6, 1962 in Chicago, Illinois and together they raised three children. Susanne spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt to dozens, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  Susanne loved her pets, music, reading and gardening. Most of all Sue loved spending time with her family and friends. She was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant.

Susanne is survived by three children:  Rick Storlie and wife Jeanne of Mount Pleasant, Christine Short and husband Billy of Sulphur Rock and Daniel Storlie and wife Cynthia of Batesville; one sister:  Patricia Ruttkay of Chicago, Illinois; five grandchildren:  Stephanie Storlie, Amy De LaRosa, Katie Mariscal, Will Storlie and Jay Storlie; three great grandchildren:  Benjamin Smith, Mason Smith and Millie Mariscal; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister:  Carol Ruttkay and two grandchildren:  James Richard Smith and Jacob Smith.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 4 at 12:00 p.m at Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Alan Meinzer officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
