Steven Dwayne Lawrence, son of the late Malcolm Glenn Lawrence and Erma Rhea Rush Lawrence, was born August 23, 1960 in Calico Rock, Arkansas. He departed this life September 13, 2021 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 61 years and 21 days. Dwayne was a 1978 graduate of Melbourne High School. He went on to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from UAMS College of Pharmacy. In 1988 he graduated with a law degree from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He earned an accounting degree from Lyon College Class of 2006. At the time of his death, he was employed by Welch, Couch and Company, Certified Public Accountants in Batesville. Dwayne enjoyed classic rock, game nights, sports, stocks, the beach, spending time with his family, theme parks and front pocketed shirts. He was a man of few words but a lot of wisdom and great advice. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant.
Dwayne is survived by his wife: Vicki Lawrence of the home; two sons: Colin Lawrence and wife Lauren of Sherwood, Conor Lawrence and wife Ozge of Broomfield, Colorado; two daughters: Chloe Jon Lawrence of Batesville and Clair Lawrence of Fayetteville; two step daughters: Chelsea Wallace and husband Dalton of Batesville and Nicole Vines of Melbourne; one bonus daughter, Jasmine Paniagua, one brother: Dwight Lawrence and wife Toni of Melbourne; three sisters: Elaine Wallis and husband Lynn of Franklin, Rhonda Halbrook and husband Rick of Melbourne and Shelly Downing of Melbourne; three grandchildren: Luna and Nova Lawrence and Kayden Wallace and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation and funeral service will be Wednesday, September 15 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Jackson Barber, Scott Davidson, Jason Lawrence, Jeremy Lawrence, Garrett McSpadden, Ethan Weller.
Honorary Pallbearers: Rick Halbrook, Lynn Wallis, Conny Johnson, Logan Weller, Dalton Wallace, Clayton Roberson and Ken Clark.
