Stephen Wayne Baker

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Stephen Wayne Baker, son of the late Ed Baker and Deloris Rose Baker, was born March 26, 1950 in Joplin, Missouri.  He departed this life June 4, 2024 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 2 months and 9 days.  Steve served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a medical corpsman.  He went on to graduate from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in Special Education. Steve loved to fish the area's rivers and lakes. He enjoyed working in his vegetable and flower gardens. Steve was passionate about music, enjoying various genres and artists.

Steve is survived by his companion of 30 years:  Cheri Sanders of the home; three daughters:  Stephanie Nunez of Ohio, Golden Williams and husband Randy of Jonesboro and Gretchen Stamper of Calico Rock; one brother:  Randall Baker of Carthage, Missouri; two sisters:  Gloria West and Gale Bates both of Carthage, Missouri; two grandchildren:  Harley Nunez and Gracie Stamper; one great grandson:  Duane Williams and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

No memorial service is planned at this time.
