Shontia Chadwell Jones

Of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas

Shontia Chadwell Jones, daughter of the late Gene Autry Chadwell and Carol Smith Chadwell, was born November 11, 1967 in Grand Prairie, Texas.  She departed this life January 28, 2021 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 53 years, 2 months and 17 days.  She was united in marriage to Rodger Alan Jones August 8, 1998 in River Oaks, Texas and together they raised four children.  Shontia spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Church on The Hill in Mesquite, Texas.

Shontia is survived by her husband of 22 years:  Roger Alan Jones of the home; three sons:  Rodger Alan Jones II (Andrew Jackman-Jones) of Boston, Massachusetts, Marshall Griffin, Tyler Griffin (Taylor Huddleston) all of Kaufman, Texas; one daughter:  Stephanie Jones (Justin Wright) of Mount Pleasant; two brothers:  Billy Smith (Nelda Ray) of Jonesboro and Dylan Chadwell (Karen) of Oklahoma; five grandchildren:  Hunter Wayne Huddleston, Maria Chadwell, Sebastian Chadwell, Noah Wright and Caleb Wright and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Visitation will be Monday, February 1 from 6- 8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

No memorial service is planned at this time.
