Shirley Ann Hall Gaston
of Melbourne, Arkansas
Shirley Ann Hall Gaston, daughter of the late Thomas D. And Norma Louise Halbrook Hall, was born July 5, 1942 in Batesville, Arkansas. She departed this life October 21, 2018 in Ash Flat, Arkansas at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 16 days. She was united in marriage to James Harrison Gaston September 1, 1961 in Melbourne, Arkansas and together they raised four children. Shirley spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. In addition to being a homemaker, Shirley worked as a waitress at the American Burger Center for many years. She was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Melbourne Church of Christ. Shirley was a true Cardinals fan.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years: James H. Gaston of the home; two sons: David Gaston and wife Laurie of Wellington, Kansas and Troy Gaston of Greenwood, Arkansas; two daughters: Sara Barton and husband John of Malibu, California, Karen Dellinger of Lexington, Kentucky; one sister: Connie Jackson and husband Leland of Myron; ten grandchildren: J. C. Gaston, David Gaston, Gray Dellinger, Hillary Walsh, Hannah Ledbetter, Abby Dellinger, Jack Gaston, Olivia Gaston, Nate Barton, Brynn Barton; eight great grandchildren; one aunt: Jean Hall of Melbourne; one uncle: Jack Halbrook of London, Kentucky; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and many good friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation and funeral service will be Wednesday, October 24 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. with John Barton officiating. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to: Children's Home, Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, Arkansas 72450.
