Shirley Fay Crocker Kent Durning

Of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas

Shirley Fay Crocker Kent Durning, daughter of the late Thomas Irvine Crocker and Ella Mae Harmon Crocker, was born October 1, 1948 in Baytown, Texas.  She departed this life December 31, 2021 at her home in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 30 days.  She was united in marriage to Alvin Paul Durning, Sr.   Shirley spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  Most of her working years were spent as a Licensed Practical Nurse in nursing homes.  She was of the Pentecostal Faith.

Shirley is survived by two sons:  Timothy Kent of Mount Pleasant and Thomas Kent of Jacksonville, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law:  LaJuana and Mark Hurd of Hutto, Texas; two brothers:  Thomas E. Crocker and wife Norma of Lindale, Texas and Dalton Crocker and wife Joann of Jacksonville, Texas; three grandchildren:  Misti Kruse, Jared Hurd, Jacob Hurd; two great grandchildren:  Natalie Perez and Hannah Perez and a host of other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands and one granddaughter:  Jessica Hurd.

Visitation and funeral service will be Tuesday, January 4 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne, Arkansas.  Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m.   Funeral service will begin at 10:00.  Burial to follow at Nail Cemetery, Lafferty Road, Mount Pleasant, Arkansas.
