Sandra June Monroe Harmon

Of Jonesboro, Arkansas

Formerly of Melbourne, Arkansas

Sandra June Monroe Harmon, daughter of the late J. T. Monroe and Charlcie Mary Mason Monroe, was born April 28, 1949 in Tehachapi, California.  She departed this life May 27, 2023 at her home in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 74 years and 29 days.  Sandy was united in marriage to David Lee Harmon July 1, 1966 in Bakersfield, California and together they raised four children.  Sandy spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, Memaw, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  Some of her working years were spent at Melbourne School District as a custodian.  After moving to Jonesboro, she was employed by Arkansas State University in Environmental Services.  Sandy's life revolved around her family and friends.  If there was ever a person in need, she would be the first to help them. She was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at Belview Baptist Church many years ago.  She will be missed greatly but her family and friends know that she is pain free and watching over everyone from Heaven.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years:  David Harmon of the home; three children:  Terri Armstrong and husband Greg of Locust Grove, Sherri Breckenridge and husband Houston of Beedeville and Mike Harmon and wife Shannon of Southfork, Missouri; one daughter-in-law:  Missy Harmon of Southfork, Missouri; eight grandchildren:  Baylee (Dustin) Hayden, Ragen (Charley) Bell, Chase Armstrong, Mackenzie Harmon, Mason (Kelli) Armstrong, Hayden (Chase) Whitehead, Gracie Harmon, Cruz Harmon; five great grandchildren:  Jameson Armstrong, Tripp Bell,  Avery Bell, Parker Hayden and Kaisley Armstrong; her beloved dog Jake; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son:  Keith Harmon; two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Howard Memorial Funeral Chapel in Melbourne.  Burial will be at Combs Cemetery.
