Rosie Kovalcik Smith

Of Newburg, Arkansas

Rosie Kovalcik Smith, daughter of the late Emil Kovalcik and Mary Dloughy Kovalcik, was born January 15, 1933 in Eastgate, Texas.  She departed this life November 8, 2020 in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas at the age of 87 years, 9 months and 24 days.  She was united in marriage to Albert Noland Smith, April 17, 1960 in Dallas, Texas.  Rosie spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend.  She was of the Mennonite faith and a member of Calico Rock Mennonite Church.

She is survived by two sons:  Richard Wayne Mayo of Melbourne and Timothy Brian Smith of Newburg; two daughters:  Roselyn Vance and husband Tommy of Newburg and Samantha Powers of Mount Pleasant; five grandchildren:  Michelle Mayo Waltrowski, Vanessa Vance May and husband Danny, Nikki Smith, Jessy Smith and wife Cheyenne and Alfred Powers; five great grandchildren:  Qayin Barsh, Darcy May Moser and husband Cameron,  Sierra Winslow, Danielle May and  Austin Winslow,  eight great great grandchildren:   Trinity Moser, Neyland  and Korbyn Flynn, Karson Pitt, Hadli Sartin,  Charli Smith, Grady Smith, Sunnie Mae Smith; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother:  Albert Kovalcik; four sisters:  Mary Michalsky, Georgia Snider, Willie Mae McMahon and Tonie McMahon and one great grandson:  Logan Winslow.

A private family memorial service has been planned for a later date.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
