Ronnie Jerome Dockins

Of Dolph, Arkansas

Ronnie Jerome Dockins, 73, of Dolph departed this life Sunday, August 29, 2021, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born June 7, 1948, Wideman, Arkansas, the son of the late Theodore and Arcie (Simmons) Dockins.  He attended Calico Rock High School graduating in 1966.  After high school Ronnie enlisted into the Army in 1967 and was deployed to Vietnam.  In 1968 he was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart for his dedicated service to his country.

Ronnie was a lifelong resident of Dolph.  He enjoyed his livestock and farming.  He was involved in community activities and spent a lot of time with family and friends.  He was a member of Dolph Baptist Church, VFW and numerous other organizations.  He was a loving father and grandfather.  He relished spending time taking his grandchildren on many vacations and spoiling them.  As his granddaughter, Jennifer, so aptly put it "As long as the grandkids were happy, he was happy."  He was loved by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Geneva and a grandson Jamis Cole Dockins. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Judy.  Three sons:  Tony (Tabatha) Grigg, Calico Rock, Blake Dockins, Dolph and Dean (Crystal) Dockins, Pineville.  Six Grandchildren:  Jennifer (Chord) McIntosh, Dalton (Jamie) Grigg, Karlee Dockins, Joseph Grigg, Emma Grigg and Remington Grigg. Three great-grandchildren:  Harper Cotter, Hadleigh Grigg and Riggs McIntosh.  Four Siblings:  Rex (Carolyn) Dockins, Wilda(late Robert) Russell, Rick (Sandra) Dockins and Rocky (Waynna) Dockins and numerous family and friends.

Visitation and funeral service will be at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Visitation will be Tuesday, August 31 from 6-8 p.m.   Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 1 at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Dolph Baptist Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be:  Dalton Grigg, Kendrick Dockins, Lynn Russell, Joseph Grigg, Heath Freeman, and Jeremy Grigg.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Chord McIntosh, Kelt Dockins, Remmington Grigg.
