Ronald Eric Bray
of Melbourne, Arkansas
Ronald Eric Bray, age 47, died June 4, 2024, at home in Melbourne surrounded by his family. He was born August 5, 1976, at Batesville, Arkansas, as the first child of Ronald and Patricia Bray. He was united in marriage to Alecia Kay Miller on February 13, 1999.
Eric was a 1994 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and went on to further his education at Arkansas State University. Eric and Alecia owned and operated North Central Insurance before Eric later went on to complete his Juris Doctorate at the University of Arkansas Bowen School of Law in Little Rock. At the time of his death, Eric was serving as a deputy prosecuting attorney for the 16th Judicial District.
He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and sports fan. Hunting and fishing with his family and watching his children play sports were his greatest joys. Eric was a life-long Razorback fan and the Bearkatz biggest supporter. For those who knew him well, it was always Eric's "favorite time of the year."
His maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Alecia Bray, along with their three children: Alex Bray, Carter Bray, and Isabella Bray, all of the home. Other survivors include his parents, Ronnie and Pat Bray of Sidney; one brother, Coy Bray (Jennifer) of Hot Springs; one sister, Tara Barnett (Brian) of Cave City; paternal grandmother: Betty Jo Evans of Melbourne; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Janett Miller of Melbourne; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Eric was of the Baptist faith and a long-time member of the Melbourne First Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday, June 7 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with funeral services to follow immediately after at 1:00 p.m. at Melbourne First Baptist Church with Doyne Robertson officiating. Burial at the Melbourne Cemetery immediately following.
Pallbearers: Ron Morris, Ryan Howard, Andy Cowden, Charlie Traub, Brad Wheelis, Dion Stevens.
Honorary Pallbearers: James O. Miller, Joe Denton, Tommy Wren, Adam Hoskinds, Drew Smith, Matt Rush, Gray Dellinger, Joey Bray.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Well Water Ministry in Cajamarca, Peru Miracle Village, P.O. Box 890, Melbourne, Arkansas 72556.
