Roger Alan Williams

Of Bethesda, Arkansas

Roger Alan Williams, son of the late Ross Alan Williams and Eula Marie Lewis Williams, was born January 27, 1939 in Bethesda, Arkansas.  He departed this life March 27, 2024 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 85 years and 2 months.  Roger served three years in the United States Army.  He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, provider and friend.  Most of his working years were spent dispatching for Independence County Sheriff's Office. He was an avid Ham Radio operator and loved communicating with nephew, Travis every morning. Roger loved his family so much, especially his grandchildren and was a proud title holder and bragger of being a great great grandfather.

He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church.

Roger is survived by three daughters:  Agnes Wolford and husband Jerry of Hartford, Illinois, Debbie Kelley and husband Jamie of Melbourne and Kelli Hicks and husband Terry of Jonesboro; two brothers:  Michael Williams and Jeffery Williams and wife Darlene all of Bethesda; one sister:  Darlene Hudson and husband Carl of Bethesda; six grandchildren:  Jerry Wolford, Jr., Aaron (Justina) Wolford, Kristina (Roy) Kunz, Kim Miller, Cody (Dallas) Hicks, Gage (Jordan) Hicks; 13 great grandchildren:  Emilee Wolford, Courtney Wolford, Kate Anne Wolford, Gaberial Wolford, Aaron Wolford, Jr., Aden Wolford, Hannah Nelson, Lucas Kunz, Austin Kunz, Kinsley Kunz, Ethan Miller, Mason Miller, Talan Miller; four great great grandchildren:  Roman and Ellis Dotson and Kylo and Bohdi Watson and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers:  Ronald Williams, David Williams, Richard Williams and grandson-in-law: Marlin Miller.

Graveside memorial funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Bethesda Campground Cemetery in Bethesda, Arkansas with Carl Hudson officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be:  Dr Jennifer McLaughlin, Dr. Brooke Miller, Dr. Anatha, Independence County Law Enforcement and Amedisys Home Health.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:  Bethesda Campground Cemetery Maintenance Fund, C/O Barbara Henson, 120 Low Lane, Batesville, Arkansas 72501.
