Richard Earl Ramsey

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Richard Earl Ramsey, son of Bobby Richard Ramsey and Janice K. Vest Reed, was born April 15, 1965 in Melbourne, Arkansas.  He departed this life July 10, 2024 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 59 years, 2 months and 25 days.  Rick spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a lifelong resident of Izard County.  He was a 1983 graduate of Melbourne High School. Rick proudly served in the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge after 6 years of service.  He went on to work at Ozarka College as a Computer Technician.  He was active member of Melbourne Masonic Lodge #141.

Rick is survived by three sons:  Matthew Leamey of New Hampshire, Christopher Ramsey of Austin, Texas, Samuel Ramsey of Winsor, Vermont; his father:  Bob Ramsey and wife Penny of Melbourne; his mother Janice Reed of Melbourne; two brothers:  James Lee Ramsey and wife Shelly and Devin Ramsey all of Melbourne; one granddaughter:  Zoey Leamey of Vermont; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by one brother:  Corey Wayne Hopper.

Visitation and memorial service will be Sunday, July 14 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Shawn Casto officiating.
