Richard (Dick) Leo Levett
of Violet Hill, Arkansas
Richard (Dick) Leo Levett, son of the late Leo and Frieda Levett, was born June 25, 1936 in Allegan, Michigan. He tragically passed away December 18, 2025 at his home in Violet Hill, Arkansas at the age of 89. Dick grew up on a farm in Allegan and graduated from Allegan High School. After graduating from high school, he was drafted into the Army, where he served in Germany. Upon returning home from the Army, he worked at Ken's Tire in Allegan. Dick Enjoyed building race cars and racing them on dirt tracks and dragstrips. Dick was also the owner/operator of Dick's Sinclair Station, also in Allegan. Dick joined the Operating Engineers Union as a Heavy Equipment mechanic. He worked all over the state of Michigan. Dick worked on the Pump Storage Project in Ludington, Michigan. Shortly after retirement, Dick moved to Violet Hill, Arkansas with Kenda, his wife, Tom and Carrie. In Arkansas they were very active with rodeos and their horses. Dick was also known by his friends as the "Horse Whisperer".
Dick was preceded in death by his parents: Leo and Frieda Levett and one brother: Milan Levett. He is survived by his children: David (Julie) Levett and daughter: Lisa (Doug) Wedge; stepchildren: Tom (Emily) Wright, Carrie (Jason) Hillman; seven grandchildren: Justin, Meghan, Lyndsey, Jacob, Payden, Anna Erin; twelve great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
Visitation and memorial service will be Sunday, January 11 at Belview Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Logan Holliday and Glen McKay officiating.
There will be a second memorial service March 21, 2026 from 2-4 p.m. at the Allegan Eagles Club 2315, 110 Chestnut St, Allegan Michigan.
