Lonzo Richard Grimes
Of Guion, Arkansas
Lonzo Richard Grimes, son of the late Franklin Grimes and Oma Anna Coleman Grimes, was born May 16, 1932 in Jones Township, Stone County, Arkansas. He departed this life March 7, 2020 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 20 days. Rich was a long time member of the Guion Community. He worked for the A.B., Travis and Earl Smith families for many years as a farm hand. Rich was best known for walking and catchng a ride to neighboring towns for supplies. He had an excellent memory and could recall stories of people and places in and around Guion.
Rich is survived by one nephew: Keith Grimes and wife Teresa of Melbourne; one niece: Melissa Garner of Melbourne; one sister-in-law: Shirley Grimes of Batesville and a host of other relatives and many special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Emmitt Grimes; two sisters: Marie Grimes and Evelyn Wiseman; one half-sister: Nona Mae Harvell.
Graveside funeral service will be Tuesday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. at Campbell Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Pallbearers: Earl Smith, Fred Lamb, Mark Herrington, Bryant Lamb, Keith Grimes and Ty Grimes.
