Rex Dwane James, son of the late Delford and Eva Crotts James, was born on February 19, 1940 in Elizabeth, Arkansas. He departed this life on December 28, 2021 at his home in Dolph, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 10 months and 9 days. Rex was united in marriage to Glenda Faye Sanders on February 24, 1968 in Calico Rock, Arkansas and together they raised three children. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Rex served his country in the United States Army. During his working years, He was a brick mason and later in life was employed by the Eaton Corporation.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Glenda Faye James of the home; one son: Brian James of Dolph; two daughters: April LiAn (Terry) Minge of Mtn. Home and Lora (Ben) Ashcraft of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one brother: J. C. (Betty) James of Elizabeth; one sister: Erma Lou (Gene) Barnett of Batesville; seven grandchildren: Shelby Cagle, Brett James, Macy James, Kailey Minge, Cohen Ashcraft, Hayden Minge, and Eva Ashcraft; three great-grandchildren: Bentley Cagle, Brycen Cagle and Madisyn Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Bob James and C.W. James; three sisters: Audene Barnett, Betty Sanders and Linda King.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock, Arkansas. Funeral service will be Friday, December 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home Chapel in Calico Rock. Burial will be at Dolph Baptist Cemetery in Dolph, Arkansas.
