Reuben Martin Crider

Of Oxford, Arkansas

Reuben Martin Crider, son of the late James Crider and Nellie Wilson Crider, was born November 28, 1939 in San Patricio County, Texas.  He departed this life November 11, 2023 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 14 days.  He was united in marriage to Evelyn Mae Lee October 3, 1969 and together they raised their family.  Reuben spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend.  Reuben worked as a roofer all of his life. He loved country music and enjoyed playing the guitar with his cousins, nephews and other family members.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years:  Evelyn Crider of the home; two sons:  Richard Crider and wife Angelia of Melbourne and Rocky Crider of Bandera, Texas; two daughters: Charlotte Ratliff and husband Wayne of Kerrville, Texas and Hazel Melon and husband David of Bandera, Texas; numerous grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one son:  Bill Megson:  three daughters:  Kathy Crider, Laurie Crider, Polly Ann Crider; five brothers:  Walter Crider, Thad Crider, Sr., Jessie Crider, Morris Crider, Claud Crider; four sisters:  Hazel Swell, Mary Morris, Martha Ann Morris, Annie Mae Hall.

Graveside funeral service will be Friday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m .at Owens Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers:  Jimmy Crider, J.D. Crider, Marshal Morris, Thad Crider, Jr., William Morris, Buck Crider.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Jacob Crider, Hank Crider, Johnny Bowman, Luke King, Bob Langston, Marshal Lane Morris.
