Raymond Paul Hamby

Of Calico Rock, Arkansas

Raymond Paul Hamby, son of the late Junius Ernest Hamby and Mozella White Hamby, was born June 2, 1947 in Osceola, Arkansas.  He departed this life May 29, 2022 at his home in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 74 years, 11 months and 27 days.  He was a 1965 graduate of Calico Rock High School and went on to attend college.  In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served on a supply ship.  On June 22, 1971 he was united in marriage to Joyce Lawrence and together they raised their family in Calico Rock.  Paul spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, uncle, provider and friend.  He retired from Baxter Lab as a technician after 40 years of employment. He was an avid supporter of the Red Cross, donating blood as often as possible.  Paul was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years:  Joyce Hamby of the home; one son:  Danny Hamby of Calico Rock; one brother:  Philip Hamby and wife Donna of Mountain Home; one granddaughter:  Molli Hamby of Little Rock and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one son:  Lonnie Hamby.
