Laymon Ray Lamb

Of Mountain Home, Arkansas

Laymon Ray Lamb, son of the late Wruble Lamb and Florene Foster Lamb, was born November 28, 1938 in Herd, Arkansas.  He departed this life January 14, 2024 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 17 days.  He was united in marriage to Lovetta Geraldine Acklin November 4, 1958 in Culp, Arkansas and together they raised three children.  After getting married Ray and Lovetta left Arkansas and moved to Washington to work in the Apple orchards.  Not long after, Ray found work at Alcoa in Wenatchee.  After retiring from Alcoa, the family returned to Arkansas in 1979 and Ray was employed by Fisher Scientific and purchased a farm located at Jordan Arkansas and raised Cattle.  After selling the farm and working 23 years at Fisher Scientific Ray and Lovetta moved to Mountain Home, where Ray hired on as a school bus driver with the Mountain Home School District, retiring after another 22 years of employment.  Ray was also a minister, presiding over many weddings, funerals and church services.  He was a member and Minister at Christian Fellowship in Mountain Home AR

Ray is survived by his wife of 65 years:  Lovetta Lamb of the home; one daughter:  Teresa Jackson and husband Travis Maroon of Blytheville; two sons:  Kennith Lamb and wife Debbie Neely of Wenatchee, Washington and Keith Lamb and wife Joyce of Mountain Home; two brothers:  Harold Lamb of Calico Rock and Dennis Lamb and wife Diane of Mountain Home; one sister:  Willa Lester of Calico Rock; two grandchildren: Savana Jackson of Colorado, and Samuel Hoffman of Colorado;  four great grandchildren:  Abigail and Ashlen Kasinger of Gassville; Maci and Matthew Bradley of Gassville; and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Linda Lamb Ward and brother-in-law Glenn Ward; Nephew Alan Ward; brother-in-law Jim Lester; and Two Grandsons; Tyler D Dixon, and Edward Lamb.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23 from 5-7 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock.  Funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 24 at 11:00 a.m.at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock with Dennis Lamb officiating. Burial will follow at Staggs Cemetery in Calico Rock.
