Phyllis Jean Blevins McCurley

Of Oxford, Arkansas

Phyllis Jean Blevins McCurley, daughter of the late Gilbert Ernest "Pappy" Blevins and Susan Ella "Mammy" Standerford Blevins, was born May 1, 1947 in Batesville, Arkansas.  She departed this life February 6, 2021 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 5 days.  She was united in marriage to Ted McCurley February 12, 1964 and together they raised two sons.  Phyllis spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend.  Most of her working years were spent between White River Shirt Company and working as a Home Health Aide.  She was of the Presbyterian faith and a member of Oxford Cumberland Presbyterian – Methodist Church.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 56 years:  Ted McCurley of the home; two sons:  Toby McCurley and wife Donna and Monty McCurley all of Oxford; one brother and sister-in-law:  Gerald and Nadine Blevins of Oxford; two grandsons:  Levi McCurley and wife Rachel of Mount Pleasant and Seth McCurley of Oxford; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters:  Anniece Reed and Patsye Campbell.

Visitation will be Monday, February 8 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Graveside funeral service will be Tuesday, February 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Oxford Cemetery with Bobby Coleman officiating.

Pallbearers: Rocky Campbell, Rusty Campbell, Jerry Blevins, Greg Stuart, Levi McCurley and Seth McCurley.

Honorary Pallbearer:  Ayden Campbell.
