Paul Dewayne Womack, son of Murlie Owens Womack and the late Shannon Dale Womack, was born June 22, 1964 in Tucson, Arizona. He departed this life July 15, 2024 in Ash Flat, Arkansas at the age of 60 years and 23 days. Paul was a 1982 graduate of Melbourne High School. He was united in marriage to Regena Dowdle August 3, 1984 and together they raised three daughters. Paul was employed by Arkansas Highway Department, Survey Division, for 28 years. He served as Izard County Tax Collector from 2018 – 2022. He also worked for ArCare as a case manager and Family Preferred Health as a Drug and Alcohol Safety Education Specialist. He was an active member of Melbourne Community Church where he served as an Elder and sang with the Praise Team.
Paul is survived by his wife of 39 years: Regena Womack of the home; three daughters: Jackie Womack (Amber) of Conway, Allie Hare (Ben) of Russellville, Cora Womack of the home; his mother: Murlie Womack of Melbourne; one brother: Ricky Womack (Kathy) of Newark; two grandsons that he referred to as "the G-Force" Gavin and Gordon Hare; his maternal grandmother: Bethel Owens of Oxford; his mother-in-law: Karen Dowdle of Mt. Pleasant and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandfather: Leamon Owens; his paternal grandparents: Hayden Womack and Mildred Smith; and his father-in-law: Jackie Dowdle.
Visitation will be Friday, July 19 from 6-8 p.m. at Melbourne Community Church. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 20 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Dale Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Barren Fork Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Tim Smith, Darrell Webb, Danny Simmons, Don Cheatham, Sanders Lee Wyatt, Tony Woods, H. B. Rodman.
Honorary Pallbearers: Izard County Elected Officials, MCC Elders.
