Paul William "Pete" Brooks

of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas

Paul William "Pete" Brooks, 85, gained his wings on February 13, 2019. He was born February 23, 1933 to parents Frank and Mittie Jones Brooks. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings: Clyde Brooks, Alice Craig, and an infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Sue Brooks, two daughters, Beverly McCollum and her husband Don, and Paula Garrett and her husband Rick, three step daughters Vickie Findlater and her husband Doug, Debbie Forshee and her husband Todd, and Susan Maahs, his grand children Brittney Adkerson, Bradley McCollum, Nathan McCollum, Daniel McCollum, 8 step great grandchildren, 7 step great great grandchildren, 2 special cats Thomas Jefferson and Fritzy and a host of many other family members.

He was employed by Limedale in Batesville for over 35 years. He enjoyed working his cattle farm, was an avid hunter and collector of guns. He loved watching college basketball, softball, and little league baseball. He never met a stranger. Whenever company came, whether it was for 5 minutes or 5 hours, when the time came to leave he would always ask "What's your hurry?"

Visitation and funeral service will be Saturday, February 16 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Violet Hill Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers: John Parrish, Larry Love, Tip Evan, Dwight Smith, Bradley McCollum and Nathan McCollum.
