Paul Dewayne "Dewayne" Moody
of Calico Rock, Arkansas
Paul Dewayne "Dewayne" Moody was born on February 16, 1949, and entered into the presence of the Lord on January 8, 2026, in Amory, Mississippi.
Dewayne was born and raised in Calico Rock, Arkansas, where he graduated in 1967. On January 1, 1970, he married the love of his life, Elaine "Jones" Moody, and together they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted husband and a proud father to his two children, Stephanie Dionne Morris and Chris Moody.
Dewayne worked faithfully for 36 years at Baxter Lab before retiring. He was saved in 1973 and served as a faithful deacon for more than 50 years. He was known for helping others - always steady, always kind, and always willing to serve. He loved Jesus, his family, his church, and his friends.
A lifelong sports lover and athlete, Dewayne enjoyed pitching horseshoes and achieved multiple state championships along with one world tournament championship. He also loved playing softball and basketball. He was a loyal fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Dewayne is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elaine "Jones" Moody; his daughter, Stephanie Dionne Morris; his son, Chris Moody (Heather); nine grandchildren, Kami Shockley, Kodi Morris, Whitney Crank, Courtney Johnson, Andrew Moody, DJ Morris, Drayden Morris, Amelia Moody, and Kaitlin Moody; and nine great-grandchildren, Truly Shockley, Everly Shockley, Marcus Crank, Baylor Shockley, Ellie Crank, Evelyn Crank, Blakely Crank, Parker Jo Crank, and Raeleigh Kate Johnson. He is also survived by two siblings, Elaine Wilson and Kenny Moody.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Vines; his father, Jack Moody; and his siblings, Dennis Moody, Jackie Sellars, Debbie Pool and son-in-law: Darren Morris.
Visitation and funeral service will be Monday, January 12 at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, 4076 AR-201, Mountain Home.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Chis Moody officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Creek Cemetery in Calico Rock, under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: D. J. Morris, Harrison Young, Drew Moody, Grant Johnson, Terry Burkhart, Rodney Buck.
Honorary Pallbearers: Mike Friend, Lyle Bishop, Marlin Johnson.
