Paul Alvis Bray
of Mount Pleasant, Arkansas

Paul Alvis Bray, son of the late Marshel Alvis Bray and Vera Ethel McSpadden Bray, was born October 4, 1940 in Batesville, Arkansas. He departed this life January 6, 2022 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 2 days. Paul proudly served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. He was united in marriage to Jo Anna Batson December 23, 1966 in Sulphur Rock and together they raised two children. Paul spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, provider and friend. Paul was a cattleman, and along with his brother Lucius, owned and operated Batesville Livestock Auction for several years. In the 1960's he was a driver for Tripp Gas Company. He did cattle testing and worked with Jim Bone Farms. Before retirement he was a driver for Edwards Ready Mix. He was an active member of Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant.

Paul is survived by his wife of 55 years: Jo Anna Bray of the home; one son: Patrick Bray and wife Scarlett of New Boston, Texas; one daughter: Melanie Cornelius and husband Lynn of Mount Pleasant; two sisters: Joyce Mynatt and husband Roy of Mount Pleasant and Beth Edwards and husband D. R. of Mount Pleansant; five grandchildren: Ty Cornelius of Weatherford, Texas and Lanie Cornelius of Mount Pleasant, Nick Basso, Tony Basso and Andrea Barfield all of New Boston, Texas and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Reese Bray, Slick Bray, Coy Bray, Lucius Bray and two sisters: Veola Claxton and Leola "Tootsie" Webb.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 9 from 2-4 p.m. at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Funeral service will be Monday, January 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Barren Fork Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mount Pleasant with Alan Meizner officiating. Burial will be at Barren Fork Cemetery.
