Patsye Donita Blevins Campbell
Of Melbourne, Arkansas
Patsye Donita Blevins Campbell (Nanny Patsye), daughter of the late Gilbert Ernest "Pappy" Blevins and Susan Ella "Mammy" Standerford Blevins, was born May 16, 1938 in Springhill, Arkansas. She departed this life January 21, 2021 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 5 days. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Weldon Campbell December 22, 1955 and together they raised one son. Patsye spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. Most of her working years were spent working at Campbell Auto Sales with Weldon, Rocky, Rusty, and Ayden. Patsye had a strong work ethic and took pride in her work. She worked tirelessly at the car wash, keeping everything looking good and keeping everyone in line. She cherished her family and spent all of her time making sure they were taken care of. Patsye was a doting grandmother and great grandmother. She spent a lot of her time driving around the car lot or town with Ayden. Family wasn't just blood to her either, there were so many people through the years she considered family just the same. She treasured her community both in the Oxford and Melbourne areas. Patsye was of the Baptist faith and a longtime member of Melbourne First Baptist Church. She loved it when all of her family attended church together each service. She was one of kind. A true testament of a strong, independent, and selfless woman who loved well. She will be greatly missed.
Patsye is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Rocky and Connie Campbell of Melbourne; one brother and sister-in-law: Gerald and Nadine Blevins; one sister and brother-in-law: Phyllis and Ted McCurley all of Oxford; two grandchildren: Rusty Campbell and wife Jennifer of Melbourne and Maggie Campbell of Melbourne; two great grandchildren: Bailey George of Ward and Ayden Campbell of Melbourne; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
