Patrick Bissell
O'Brien
May 24, 1959 — Jan 2, 2020
Patrick Bissell O'Brien, 60, of Zion, Arkansas went to be with his Lord on January 2, 2020. He was born May 24, 1959 to Patrick W. O'Brien and Deborah Bissell in Evanston, Illinois. Patrick lived at the Easy K Ranch, a home for people with developmental disabilities. He resided at the ranch from 1963 until his passing. Pat loved his Easy K family. Patrick was nonverbal and suffered from developmental disabilities since birth, but he had a huge personality. He was always hugging everyone or sitting on their lap. He loved to be outside. When Pat was able to walk without assistance, he would visit his rock pile beneath a large oak tree in the driveway at the Ranch on a daily basis. He would carefully choose new rocks for his rock pile and throw out the ones that he no longer wanted. Pat enjoyed monthly visits from local churches and he especially enjoyed when Mrs. Vida Tate would play her guitar and sing. Pat's favorite time of year was Christmas. He was always the first to sit on Santa's lap. Even though Pat never spoke a word, he left a lasting impression on everyone who met him.
Patrick is survived by one brother: Jim and Karen O'Brien of Evanston, Illinois; three sisters: Kathy and Tom Caplice, Mariellen and Mike Hendricks and Patti and J T Sheahan all of Evanston, Illinois; thirteen nieces and nephews and his Easy K family. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Michael O'Brien.
Graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Zion Hill Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Larry Strope officiating.
