Owen Wayne Harvell

of Melbourne, Arkansas

Owen "Wayne" Harvell of Melbourne, passed away April 30, 2026, at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home at the age of 91 years and 6 days. He was born April 24, 1935, in Lunenburg, AR, to John Owen and Sibyl Emily Walker Harvell.  He was a retired Arkansas State Plumbing Inspector. He married Robbie Jean Miller on July 18, 1953, and to this union was born 4 children: Michael Joe, Timothy Wayne, Robin Annette, and Jennifer Lynn. He married second to Phyllis Rose Bogenshutz on June 30, 1988.

In addition to both spouses, survivors include one son, Tim Harvell, two daughters; Robin Cross and Jennifer Kelch; two cherished stepchildren, April "Michelle" Gray and Jonathan "Jonny" Forrest Harvey; one sister Sammie Gaye Balentine; three brothers; Kenneth, Roger, and Grady Harvell; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Michael Joe Harvell; three sisters; Doris Jean Hutchins, Wanda Daphene Byram, and Myrna Joye Harvell.

There will be a celebration of life for friends and family held on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 12:00-2:00 pm at the Lunenburg Community building.
A private graveside service will be held by Eddie's Family Funeral Home at the Reeves Cemetery at 2 pm, Saturday May 2 with Rev. Bill Grothe and Bro. Doyne Robertson officiating.

Honorary pallbearers are nephews: Donald, Ronnie, and Dennis Hutchins, Greg and Jeff Stroud, Sam and Nathan Edwards, Anthony and David Harvell, and Rob and Eric Harvell.
