Norris Elsner Grills, son of the late Homer Elsner Grills and Tracy Cline Jett Grills, was born February 23, 1937, in Larkin, Arkansas. He departed this life peacefully on November 2, 2022, at his home in Violet Hill surrounded by his wife and children at the age of 85 years, 8 months, and 10 days. He was united in marriage to Mary Catherine Shrable December 23, 1959, and together they raised 4 children. Norris spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, provider, and friend. He was dearly loved by all who knew him. Most of his working years were spent as a truck driver. He was of the Christian faith. He served in the Arkansas National Guard.

Norris is survived by his wife of 62 years: Catherine Grills of the home; four children: Jackie Bumpers and husband Joe of Little Rock, Robin Wommack and husband Tommy of Melbourne, Donald Lee Grills and fiancé Sandy Willhite of Violet Hill, and Donna Grills of Violet Hill; six grandchildren: Dion and husband Eric Burgess, Seth Wommack, Zach and wife Samantha Bumpers, Ryan and wife Kaysi Bumpers, Catherine Bumpers, and Elizabeth Bumpers; three great-grandchildren: Kyrstin Scarbro, Bailey Dunn, and Cody Burgess; one sister: Sue and husband Kenneth "Dock" Warden of Brockwell; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation and funeral service will be Sunday, November 6, at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 pm. Funeral service will begin at 2 pm with Rick Hellums officiating. Burial will follow at Violet Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Violet Hill Cemetery Maintenance Fund, P. O.
