Norma Shaver
Muncy
Nov 9, 1941 — Dec 6, 2024
Norma Ruth Shaver Muncy
Of Melbourne, Arkansas
Norma Ruth Shaver Muncy was born in Wideman, Arkansas on November 9, 1941. She was the third child of Shelby and Ella Ward Shaver. She departed this world December 6, 2024 in Batesville, Arkansas.
Norma taught numerous ages and subjects over the course of a 52-year career in education. She began teaching around age 20 and inspired children at Evening Shade, Violet Hill, Melbourne and Mount Pleasant School Districts over the course of her tenure. Until the day of her passing, she stated that she loved every day of teaching.
In her free time, she was an avid reader, piano player and lover of a good movie. Her main focus was her family. She kept up with what everyone was involved in, writing it all in her planner. Once she became unable to travel, she mastered her cell phone as a way to stay connected. As she aged and was no longer able to attend church, Norma blanketed her loved ones in prayer because she knew what a contribution that was.
Norma leaves behind her husband of 63 years: Jim Muncy of the home; two daughters and their husbands: KaLyn and Stoney Nethercot of Bel Aire, Kansas and NiKole and Aron Owens of Violet Hill. She was a Mimi to six grandchildren: Spencer Nethercot and fiancé Caroline Barger, Emma Shinn, Will Shinn, Kate Crawford and husband Zack, Maddie McSpadden and husband Jared and Scarlett Owens. She was a "great mimi" to Samuel James Crawford. She is also survived by two brothers: John Shaver and Bob Shaver.
Norma's family was in group messages to stay in daily contact. Her favorite text to send was "All is Well" after hearing about everyone's day. While she will be missed here on earth, her family hopes that everyone will join them in rejoicing that "All is Well" with her in her new home in heaven.
