Neva Alberta Matney James

Of Violet Hill, Arkansas

Neva Alberta Matney James, daughter of the late Neville Matney and Leonna Charbonneau Matney, was born June 22, 1930 in Fredonia, Kansas.  She departed this life October 16, 2022 in Violet Hill, Arkansas at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 24 days.   She was united in marriage to Howard Dean James and together they raised three children. Neva spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend.  Most of her working years were spent as a caregiver.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Melbourne.

She is survived by one son:  Robert H. D. James of Wichita, Kansas; eleven grandchildren:  Kevin Coulter of Violet Hill and ten others; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters:  Deborah K. James Coulter and Linda Ward.

Graveside funeral service will be Friday, October 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Forrest chapel Cemetery with Larry Sellars officiating under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers:  Mark Herrington, Skeeter Beene, Joe Searcy, Chris Melton, Jack Campbell and Winford Rush.
