Nancy Lee Jeffery Sheffield

Of Melbourne, Arkansas

Nancy Lee Jeffery Sheffield, daughter of the late Lawrence Earl Jeffery and Lucretia Hester Mayfield Jeffery, was born on February 2, 1935 in Mount Olive, Arkansas.  She departed this life November 10, 2020 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 8 days.  She was united in marriage to Kenneth Sheffield January 9, 1954 and together they raised two children.  After earning her Licensed Practical Nursing Degree, she went to work at Dr. Harold Tatum's Office in Melbourne for many years.  After leaving Dr. Tatum's office she worked at nursing homes in the area before retiring.  She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend.  She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Melbourne First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two children:  Kathy Newcomb of Melbourne and Bobby Sheffield and wife Ruthie of Zion; two sisters:  Eloise Oliver and husband James of Camden and Attie Rush and husband Winfred of Brockwell; four grandchildren:  Douglas Smith, Natasha Miller, Rusty Miller and Amanda Jenkins; fourteen great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson: Corey Masson, Sr; four brothers:  Clarence Jeffery, Walton Jeffery, Robert Jeffery, Paul    (Pete) Jeffery; three sisters:  Irene Gillihan, Pauline Russell, Iva Trice; and one great granddaughter:  Stacy Lewis.

Visitation and funeral service will be Friday, November 13 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home.  Visitation begins at 1:00 p.m.   Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m.  Internment at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers:  Doug Smith, Rusty Miller, Tracy Lewis, Michael Masson, C. J. Masson, Levi Darnell, Dosson Masson and Emmett Jenkins.
