Myrtle Louise Brooks Grimes Henry

Myrtle Louise Brooks Grimes Henry, daughter of the late Boyd Brooks and Dona Hall Brooks, was born July 22, 1939 in Lafferty, Arkansas. She departed this life October 16, 2020 in Melbourne, Arkansas at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 24 days. Myrtle was a lifelong resident of Izard County. She spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. Most of her working years were spent at White Rodgers, Incorporated in Batesville. She retired after 33 years of employment. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Lafferty Baptist Church.

She is survived by two children: Melissa Garner and Keith Grimes both of Melbourne; one sister: Reba Collins of Oklahoma; two grandchildren: Ashley Grimes and Ty Grimes both of Melbourne; two step children: Sandy Henry of New Mexico and Barbara Henry of Little Rock; nine nieces and nephews: Connie Edwards, Ron Edwards of Florida, Thomas Edwards (Kobie) of Melbourne, Shay Lee of Mount Pleasant, Wade Hollowell of Lafferty, Glennis House of Newark, Yvonne Collins of Oklahoma, Brian Collins of Texas and Beth Peterson of South Carolina; and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Vinnie Edwards, Mildred Harvell, Stella Peterson; two husbands: Emmitt Grimes and Kenneth Henry; one step son: Todd Henry.

The family will be holding a memorial service at a later date.
