Myrtle Mae Burns Everidge

Of Ash Flat, Arkansas

Myrtle Mae Burns Everidge, the twelfth child born to the late Monroe Burns and Coetta Shore Burns, was born January 31, 1941 in Herple, Arkansas.  She departed this life January 18, 2025 in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 18 days.  Myrtle spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker and friend. At the age of 18, Myrtle was united in marriage to James "Monk" Everidge May 6, 1958 by Lloyd Nesbitt and over their 46 years of marriage they raised six children. Many of her fondest memories were of camping trips that her family took.  She loved to fish and spend time outdoors with her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith.

Myrtle is survived by six children:  Rita and Delbert Johnson of Mount Pleasant; Diana and Danny Engles of Guion, Judy Everidge and Ralph Richardson of Davenport, Iowa, Liz and Mark Parsons of Mountain View, Dewayne Everidge of Bald Knob, Tinky Everidge of Beebe; twenty grandchildren:  Brent, Michael, Kris, Steven, Zach, Tim, Brandy, Alan, Justin, Colleen, Haylee, Laken, Maggie, Dylan, Cole, William, J J, Shana, Christina, Billy; thirty great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 46 ½ years:  James Monk Everidge; nine brothers:  Calvin Burns, Carl Burns, Dennis Burns, Gilbert Burns, Hubert Burns, Ancle Burns, Bob Burns, Billy Burns, Gerald Burns; three sisters:  Edna Brown, Alma Romas, Thelma Powell; two grandchildren:  Jessie Foster, Amber Richardson; one son Jimmy Dean "Jim Ed" Everidge.

Visitation and funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 21 at Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.   Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Danny Engles officiating.  Burial will follow at Spoon Flat Cemetery in Fifty-six, Arkansas.

Pallbearers:  Steven Everidge, Zach Everidge, Tim Everidge, Justin Everidge, Brent Engles, Cole Lay, Steven Gilbert.

Honorary Pallbearers:  Michael Engles, Kris Engles, Billy Roberts, J J Roberts, William Roberts, Brandy Hughes, Alan Richardson, Colleen Richardson, Haylee Everidge, Laken Everidge, Maggie Everidge, Dylan Parsons.
